Community Wellbeing

Big Yellow Umbrella's (BYU) Community Wellbeing programs provides a wide range of services to residents and their families living in the Macarthur Local Government Area (LGA) and surrounds.

MONDAY'S

  • When:  Monday's 1pm - 2pm
    Where:  Narellan Child, Family and Community Centre, 16-24 Queen Street, Narellan
    Cost:  $10 per session

  • Every week on a Monday, we run a FREE food relief program from our Yellow Hampers collection point in the Narellan Library forecourt.  Everyone, of any age and of any situation can attend.  Call us to register on Call 0423 758 091 to register for your Hamper OR email julie.rae@yellowumbrella.org.au

    When: Collection available from 11am - 1pm

TUESDAY'S

  • Join us for a FREE Community Art program where being creative is the goal.

    You will meet like-minded people and learn new skills each week over a chat and cuppa.

    Suitable for 15 years (no child minding available).

  • The bushfires of 2019 affected us all in different ways. Hang out with us after school to have a chat and create some art (creating art is not compulsory)

  • Big Yellow Umbrella's Case Manager works collaboratively, with a strengths-based approach to support children and young people, and their families.  Case Management involves an Intake, Assessment, Case Planning and Referrals to appropriate programs and services. Every Case Plan is unique to the individual, using a holistic approach.  We accept referrals from other agencies, Government Departments, families, and self-referrals.  For more information SMS Stephanie Roberts on 0434 812 951 or Email youth.services@yellowumbrella.org.au for our referral form.

  • A support group for family, friends and carers of people living with a mental illness.

WEDNESDAY'S

  • Calling on all parents and kids to come and join us at our Playlinks Playgroup. 

    During this supported playgroup children will enjoy craft, games, book and songs.

  • RAYN, the Rainbow Advocacy Youth Network. For young people who identify as LGBTQI+ and their friends or allies. This is an inclusive, celebratory group that supports young people throughout their diverse journeys and helps them navigate complex feelings, confusion and promotes safety in expression.

THURSDAY'S

  • This FREE six-session parenting program with help your child develop emotional intelligence and have greater success with making and keeping friends, have better concentration at school and be more able to calm down when upset or angry.

  • FREE supervised 2 hour sports session at AB Central for 6-17 year olds who live in the Campbelltown area, every Thursday from 5 - 7pm.

    No equipment is needed however feel free to bring along a pair of boxing gloves if you have them - all other equipment will be supplied, along with afternoon tea.

  • Parenting Program Circle of Security - FREE 8-Week parenting course facilitated by Sue Trentfield

    Circle of Security is a program which requires an eight week commitment.  Designed for parents and carers of children aged 0-12 years, who would like support to strengthen the bond with their children and help their children to build secure relationships.

  • Big Yellow Umbrella's case management process is whereby we work collaboratively to support children, young people, adults and their families/carers.  Case management involves intake, assessment, case planning, referral to appropriate services, monitoring and review.
