The Children’s Services Program

Big Yellow Umbrella’s Children’s Services Program delivers a wide range of services and activities to families and children residing in the Macarthur LGA.

The program is funded by the NSW Department of Education & Training and NSW Department of Community and Justice is supported by local services, schools and organisations in the Macarthur Region.

A Family Worker provides families with referrals to other services; delivers parenting support and education; facilitates supported playgroups and other activities that help build an enriched and connected community.

Seasons for Growth is a small group education program that supports children and young people to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to understand and respond well to experiences of change, loss and grief.

Stormbirds is an education program that supports children and young people to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to understand and manage experiences of change and loss following natural disasters.

Breakfast Clubs

Big Yellow Umbrella, with support from community groups and organisations, run a Breakfast Program twice a week at Cawdor Public School.  Students take part on organise sports activities and eat a range of healthy foods including cereal, pancakes, toast, fresh fruit and juice.

Big Yellow Umbrella also participates in a number of community family events including,

    • Paint the Town REaD
    • National Family Week
    • School Holiday Programs
    • Child Development Forum

Transition to School

These programs are for children who are getting ready to go to big school. They run for one hour per week during Term 4 and include outcomes that are reflected in the Early Years Learning Framework.

Circle of Security

Parenting Program Circle of Security - FREE 8-Week parenting course facilitated by Sue Trentfield.

Circle of Security is a program which requires an eight week commitment.  Designed for parents and carers of children aged 0-12 years, who would like support to strengthen the bond with their children and help their children to build secure relationships.
